What is Mohawk?
Mohawk is a another VOIP (Voice-Over-IP) application, currently only available for Windows, much like Teamspeak and Ventrilo. Mohawk has been enhanced to draw less resources from your system than other VOIP applications, up to 75% less in most cases, but Mohawk still remain user-friendly, and Mohawk still maintains a great reputation for crisp and clean online voice communication.
Mohawk can be used as a way of communications for businesses, mainly for business meetings or conferences. But like many of Mohawk's VOIP brothers and sisters, Mohawk can still be used for gaming clans or communities, and in-game communications between many gamers in one channel on a Mohawk server. Mohawk is whats known as client-to-server application meaning it connects you(the Mohawk user) to the Mohawk server. The Mohawk server will act as a host to multiple client connections, capable of handling literally thousands of simultaneous Mohawk users.
Mohawk has a extremely user-friendly GUI(Graphical User Interface), Mohawk has many features that Teamspeak and Mumble share: such as a Sound Input/Output options, ability to create profiles, text-to-speech options using Microsoft Sam. Mohawk also features a user comment option like Mumble, and a channel tree structure, you can also send private messages and you have the option to hide chat in your Mohawk client. Mohawk truly is the best of both worlds!
Mohawk also has extra features such as the ability to open up URL Hyperlinks just by clicking them on your Mohawk client, and Mohawk features a fully changeable Administrator rights system to keep anyone from doing what you don't want them to do on your Mohawk server. Mohawk is only available on Windows Xp, Windows 7, Windows Vista and several other Windows operating systems but a Unix compatible Mohawk client version is due for release in the 2.0.0 release of Mohawk.
